Barbican Concert Hall

Inspirationally designated 'The Dilapidations Project' by a London City bureaucrat, this project solved rather dull-seeming infrastructural and technical access challenges with an iconic architectural statement that yielded remarkable acoustic gains as well.

Originally conceived as a conference center, the Barbican Concert Hall was not shaped for music, but it keeps the entire audience close to the action. The new many-tonned, steel-clad reflectors work to that strength, emphasizing clarity, immediacy, and impact - providing a singular music experience.
