Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
Typifying the beloved concert hall with abilities that don't meet the present-day market, Philharmonic Hall is getting a technical and back-of-house upgrade along with a brand new 200-seat room – just in time for the RLPO's 175th birthday. Load-in will be simplified, the stage and choir reconfigured, and lighting positions added, all to accommodate larger and more elaborate touring productions that complement the orchestral offering. A few acoustic goodies are in there for the orchestra, too. The small venue will cater mostly to non-orchestral fare, expanding the RLPO's reach and ensuring the days (and nights) don't pass quietly.
