The Poetry Foundation
Tracing its origins to 1941, The Poetry Foundation was established in 2003 when the Modern Poetry Association received a transformational gift from philanthropist Ruth Lilly. The Foundation publishes Poetry magazine and its new headquarters building in Chicago houses its curatorial, publishing, and other staff as well as an extensive library. Its most public space is a 125-seat reading room with superb acoustics for speech and sufficient flexibility to serve as a banquet and seminar room. A speech-oriented recording studio rounds out the facility.
