The Oprah Winfrey Show was an almost instant success when it began in Chicago in the mid-1980s.
A quickly-assembled collection of buildings west of Chicago's downtown became the Show's
production base. A series of renovations over the past decade have developed it into a
state-of-the-art venue for live broadcast and post-production. The handiwork of Harpo Productions,
Inc. is currently distributed from this facility to more than 130 countries around the world.
