Fine arts studios and gallery spaces are grouped around a 250-seat flexible theater with a strong
interior visual presence. Simple materials used in unexpected ways – including precast concrete formulated for acoustic absorption – yield a space that holds its own without upstaging the
performers. Acoustics and seating layouts will be variable so the room can accommodate music, meetings, and banquets in addition to theatrical productions.
A video broadcast booth is designed to accommodate both stereo and 5.1 broadcast of news shows, special lectures, and theatre and music events. Campus radio broadcast facilities will also be housed
in this building. Threshold has designed audio systems throughout and video systems serving performances in the theatre.
