Kevin T. Watson

Kevin gained his enthusiasm for audio and video from his grandfather, who once ran projection and audio for Abbott and Costello when they visited his Naval base. While still in middle school, Kevin began running sound at his church. He continued through high school and works as a technical director at his church to this day. His degree in electrical and acoustical engineering from Purdue University is a natural overlay to this lifelong interest in sound.

After college, he worked first at Eilar and Associates in California, where he worked on sound isolation and road noise abatement projects, then at Kirkegaard Associates in Chicago, where he again focused on audio and video systems design. He participated the following projects while at Kirkegaard:

Hope Presbyterian Church, Memphis, Tennessee – Audio system design with emphasis on loudspeaker selection and location | Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Skokie, Illinois – Audio and video systems for permanent exhibits and associated multi-use spaces | Puerto Rico Conservatory, Puerto Rico – Audio and video systems for a recital hall and associated teaching spaces | Chicago Botanic Gardens, Chicago, Illinois – Audio and video systems for an education center and outdoor facilities | Skokie Theater, Skokie, Illinois – Audio system for a renovated jazz theater

At Threshold, Kevin is bringing together his experiences with acoustics and AV systems to contribute to all aspects of the practice.

His ongoing work at Threshold includes AV systems for the following projects:
