Robin Glosmeyer Petrone

Robin caught the spotlight early, riveting audiences at the age of 3 with a mean song-and-dance Jimmy Crack Corn. By 11, she had toured Copenhagen, Moscow and Minsk with the St. Louis Gateway Ballet Company. In high school, she filled her spare time with musicals, flute, speech team, and the church choir. Art and science converged for her during a Requiem in a cathedral in Dortmund while studying abroad a few years later – Verdi laced with limestone and stained glass can have that effect – and she returned to the University of Kansas to add an acoustics emphasis to her Architectural Engineering degree. She joined Jaffe Holden Acoustics in 2000 and became Principal and Director of West Coast Operations in 2003, managing projects and the office until her departure in 2007 to start a family. She reenters the profession at Threshold in a role involving both consulting and business development.

Her history in the Acoustical Society of America includes co-chairing student design competitions, co-organizing the 2003 Concert Hall Research Group Summer Institute, and co-authoring Classroom Acoustics: A Reference for Creating Learning Environments with Desirable Listening Conditions. Robin has been an invited lecturer on the topics of music and architecture for the LA Philharmonic’s Music for Elementary Educators series and at SCI-Arc as part of the “Stereolabs” Seminar which focused on the exploration of architecture and sound.
