Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration

Built in the 1960s, the sanctuary for the Church of the Transfiguration is an intimate brick structure. At the turn of the century, the Church began planning for a new organ with Richards, Fowkes & Company. This brought about an extensive renovation of the choir gallery that resulted in new choral risers, a revised mechanical system, and the creation of an accessible route linked to a building addition housing new music rehearsal rooms, offices, and classrooms. An acoustic review of the sanctuary led to changes to the upper corbeled brick walls to improve reverberation time and warmth. Organ installation was completed in 2010.
