Carver’s community believes in immersing students in cross-disciplinary experiences, so its new building includes not only traditional learning spaces, but also a carpentry shop, cosmetology and culinary arts labs, and design and production studios. The fusion of the studies of technology with the arts occurs throughout the facility; in the 1,200-seat auditorium, 150-seat black box theatre, dance studios, TV studio, lighting and production labs, and fine arts studios for painting, sculpture and photography. For good measure, the local public TV station is headquartered here as well, linking the school to the professional world.
