Sarah Parker

Consultant

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Sarah has been a visual artist for as long as she can remember, long enough for her parents to kindly remind her that while she doesn’t have to do sports in school, she does have to do something. That something turned out to be theater, and painting sets lead to learning audio for productions, which lead to sound design for theater at DePaul University.

Her sound design major opened up a whole field of AV and allowed Sarah to dive into soundscapes and aural dimensions. Internships allowed her to understand how sound interacted in spaces, the importance of speaker placement and learn new ways to design shows. A natural collaborator, thanks to her time in theater, she’s interested in the large-scale effort that comes from working together on a team.

She was drawn deeper into the AV world through the construction process, enjoying the chance to specify aspects of design and see it come to life. After graduation she moved to Denver, working for an Integration firm and assisting on the National Western Center, home of the National Western Stock Show – all cowboy concerns should be directed to her.

She missed Chicago too much, however, and we’re thrilled to have her artistic eye on our AV team.

She’s still doing art when she’s not problem-solving with colleagues, exploring digital art these days with two cats named Milly and Ginger.
