Threshold Acoustics

When the Volver Restaurant was contemplated for an available space in the Kimmel Arts Center Building, the primary concern was to provide a reasonable level of attenuation to assure that amplified music events in the lobby do not have a negative impact on the use of the restaurant, and that the restaurant could offer music events without major disruption to lobby functions within the Kimmel Center. Threshold focused on glazing systems as well as the connection of new ductwork systems for the restaurant HVAC and kitchen exhaust to existing Kimmel Center supply, and return systems to control the amount of noise transferred between the restaurant and lobby. The result allows for a harmonious coexistence between Volver and the Kimmel Center.
